My ancient computer has Windows ME [Millennium Edition].
Haha i know.
It goes pretty fast since I have high-speed internet though.
But it pisses me off that I can't download iTunes %26amp; stuff.
Is there a way that I could at least get Windows 2000? How much is it? Where can I buy it?

Help! Ancient computer!?
Why go with W2K when you can buy an XP Upgrade for less than $100, if your old PC meets the minimum hardware requirements. You would likely need 256 MB RAM minimum, 512 MB preferred.
OR you could buy a new / used XP PC. That would probably be cheaper in the long run.
But, don't wait too long, XP may not be available after June 30th, 2008.
Reply:Win2k will be roughly around $200.
Though you could upgrade to XP Home, for $99. Though you may want to consider adding more ram. Or hell, instead put that kind of money towards a new machine, and just keep your old monitor.
Reply:As much as this would stink I dont think it is humanly posible to do that on such ancient model. You should probouly invest in a Newer Computer hard drive. As you get on you'll learn of other things you will not be able to do. So again I sugest a Newer Computer hard drive. (Ps cool Avitar.)
Reply:found it for $88 on pricewatch:

It's also available on amazon of all places (but it was $125 used)
Reply:you could get 2000 second hand from the news paper or ebay, or you may be able to buy a new windows XP, you might be surprised bow low the requirements for XP relay are. XP will run fine on a 200Mhz PC for example, quite usably
Reply:if it will run me it should upgrade to xp fine
Reply:For the $$$ you'd put in for Win2k, if you have a friend with a 2k disk (or XP) you could check local eBay auctions for older computers with the COA on them.
Reply:sadly windows 2000 isn't for sale anymore but windows vista is the only one you can buy for about €400 but its super fast and simple to use if I were you I'd get Windows Vista
