Which person in history is most impressionable to write on? IDEAS NEEDED!!!!?

I have an assignment that is to write on a debatable topic revolving around a well known figure whether dead or living. So Firstly, i have to choose a well known figure which many people would know yet few others would wrtie about. I would then have to decide on an issue involving this person and argue both sides of the story to form some sort of thesis essay.

So i ahve been thinking. Should I write on Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of Singapore, Bill Gates, or who else? I am now considering a topic of "Bill Gates or Warren Buffett, who is the most successful man in all aspects.

My literature review on Hitler was a little lopsided as Hitler had 8 bad points and 1 good point only.

Can you all please helpe me to think of a well known person yet hardly used by my peers and a controversial debatable issue revolving around the person? Thanks a lot.

Which person in history is most impressionable to write on? IDEAS NEEDED!!!!?
Alexander the great would be my first choice. Some other potentially interesting ideas from western thought might be Columbus, John Smith, Geronimo, William T. Sherman, Alexander Hamilton, Richard the Lionheart and Martin Luther. You could also try to do something a little more abstract like "the typical pioneer," "the typical gold rush 49er" or "the typical middle atlantic settler." I like your idea of Lee Kuan Yew because not many know of him.
Reply:Da vinci of course he was artists and scientific and was an inventor as well Check out his site its awesome.
Reply:Go with Lee Kuan Kew. It would be very informative as Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are so main stream today.
Reply:Try writing about the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It will allow the reader find out that the co-founder of Microsoft is not a bad guy after all.
Reply:write about some one that has fight for peoples same rights some one that has figth for equalty some that has end opression that has end prejudice that is some one very special.
Reply:hitler might be a good idea you would be able to go out of the box with it, go to other peoples perspecteves and his.
Reply:Try Conrad Hilton! His book is entitled: "Be My Guest". It's an autobiography, and it's truly a delightful book to read as well! What a man!

on the right side there is a little scroll with 1-10 in it. it'll go up to 100 listing historical people who shaped the last 1000 years. you'll surely find something there
Reply:How about George Bush - the current president. he is very debatable. Everyone knows who is his. he's made lots of impressins--mostly bad in my opinion, butothers love him!
Reply:Hmmmm.... how about Shakespeare?
Reply:James K Polk. Pretty obscure, eh? He was the U.S. President who acquired half of Mexico following the Mexican War of 1847-49, right before the California Gold Rush. Some Mexicans say we should give the land (the entire Southwest) back to them, so there is plenty of controversy there.
Reply:may b u can rite abt Mother Theresa...A kind women who had bcum an idle 4 so many young social workers....
Reply:One possibility might be Rev William Graham, (son of Billy) who operates a Samaritan's Purse, a charity, but also rouses anger and hate by calling Islam an "evil" religion, claiming Christianity as the only true way. Is he doing more good in the world, or more harm?
Reply:i just wrote one about Ethel Rosenberg, she was executed along with her husband for espionage in the 50's although no evidence was found against her, but her husband was guilty, i don't know, it's controversial yet some know about her and some don't
Reply:The person you write about should be one who made a dramatic contribution to the nation, the world, and covered every walk of life. While there are many that would fit that description, the one that sticks out in my mind is "Martin Luther King". Can you just imagine if he had lived out his dream how that would have made a uniformity to humanity the likes of which has never been thought of since or after.
Reply:I think he is profit mohammad he did the biggest change in the history
Reply:Martin Luther King Jr.

Amelia Earhart

The Wright brothers

The Grimm brothers
Reply:I suggest Billy Graham as he is certainly well known, and has made a profound impact on the lives of thousands of people all over the world preaching the gospel.
Reply:You could really write about Matthew Perry. He was well Known as a great explorer in the late 1800's.He is not well known but it would still be interesting to hear about someone nobody has really talked about. So go to the library and find a black hostory book and look for him!!! Your teacher will be so surprised. That is all I got!!
