Has rap legend, Big Daddy Kane died?

I was watching the Tavis Smiley show w/Chuck D %26amp; Prof Griff and they said that Big Daddy Kane, a legend in the rap genre, has passed. I have not seen or heard any new regarding his passing. So if anyone has any info, please answer my query. Thank yew very much!
