Bear with me, please: I'm just trying to picture the scene where all you well-meaning christians drag yourselves back to the office and admit:
"I blew it, Sarge. Weemaryanne still doesn't believe in The General and will not be reporting to Heaven's Boot Camp."
"Yew WHUT! Why Private I'm disgusted with yew! What the hayull! Why oh why do they expect me to turn out successful converters when they won't even send me hoomin beins first!" And so on and on and on.
Okay, enough teasing. Seriously, I'd be glad to hear from Schneb, Martin S, and anyone else who's ever tried to convince me that your invisible skybuddy exists: How bad is it for you when you don't succeed?
When you fail to convert me, is your Evangelism Leader disappointed in you?
I just wanted to take a moment to bask in the warmth and glow of peace that faith has obviously provided for so many who answered this question.
Reply:as christian all we do is try to plant the seed. we cant "convert" or save anyone. for me, I'm just here telling what i believe. if i spend a life time telling what i believe and threw it all only one other person came to know Christ, it would have been worth it.
Reply:Are you trying to be funny. The answer is a good conscience
towards God not people.
Reply:I am Pagan, not Christian. Once when approached by two Evangelical Christian ladies, they asked "Have you found the Lord, Jesus Christ?". I answered quite seriously, "Why? Have you lost Him again?". They left immediately. I do not prosthelatize and I don't appreciate those that do. Religion is a personal choice. I do hope those that are unable to convert me leave immediately and at least try to understand that I chose my way and they chose theirs. My way is love and theirs is something else.
Reply:You have quite an imagination. Its not up to any of us to turn you. Its up to you to turn.
Reply:we can not convict you that is in Gods hands but if you refuse to listen you are the loser not us.
Reply:Fellow Christians ... this is the type of answer Weemaryanne in trying to instill as she reads them and lol. In the future it is more christian like not to answer but to stop and say a prayer for her. that is what we are to do . God Bless you Weemaryanne.
Reply:There is no cumpulsory in religion
Reply:I don't try to covert anyone - everyone has the right to their own set of beliefs. I really don't care what you believe.
Reply:Only God can convert. I only plant the seed ... He makes them grow. Therefore, I don't give much thought to how it goes, unless the person comes and asks questions.
God Bless ... have a blessed New Year!
Reply:We are not trying to make you believe or force you to do anything. All we do is present the facts and the truth of GOD's Word. It is up to you if you want to submit to the Lord. It's called free will. -We all have free will.
If you do not want to submit, we tend to be disappointed in you, because after all we are all human. However, we will still pray for you to seek the Lord whole-heartedly and find refuge in HIM.
-God Bless.
1 Samuel 12:23
As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.
Reply:we are only called to witness ,convincing and conviction are the job of the Holy Spirit.may God bless you in 2008
Reply:When I was a cultmember I never got yelled at for failing to "bring someone to the lord".
Actually it's not that bad. They just restrategize lol.
Did you try the "before I was saved..." routine?
Yes I did.
Did you try the "since I've accepted the lord as my personal savior ...." bit?
Yes sir.
Hmmm. Did you give them one of those Chick tracts that condemn everything they believe in?
Yes sir, I thought that would be the clincher, but he just wouldn't budge. He refused to give up his spiritual beliefs just because I asked him too! I don't know what's wrong with him!
I mean...If it were me I'd be a good sport and ...oh no wait, that's right, we're not allowed to have open minds to other religions..so I guess I shouldn't blame that guy huh...
*whip*
Owwwwwwwwwww! that hurt!
That's what happens when you try to think for yourself maggot!
*whip*
where was I going with this?
Reply:A christian's obligation is only to spread God's word what you do with that word creates your own destiny. And I just started posting yesterday so I've never seen you before, but if you are not seeking Truth, then why are you wasting your time in the Religion/Spirituality category?
Reply:I am amazed that you would even think such a thing.
Don't you know that it is the Holy Spirit who converts not us poor evangelist. We can only change the thinking. God must change the heart.
We are just ambassadors for Christ. We are not soul winners as many think. When an ambassador of a king delivers the king's decree/message he has done his job and returns to the king in joy proclaiming I have done as you so ordered.
In like manner we as ambassadors rejoice whether or not you receive. For we know who is the true soul winner, and it is not us but God.
We would rather you receive, but that's between God and you.
If a doctor was trying to give you a shot for a disease that was killing you and you refused the shot do you think he would give up his practice because you refused to allow him to treat you.
You must really think big of yourself if you think that doctor, an ambassador for Christ or anyone else trying to help you would let it crush them because little you would not accept it.
Reply:I am not Schneb or Martin, but I am not concerned when I don't "succeed" as you put it.
My job is not to succeed but to simply do what God said. The rest is up to Him.
There is no success or failure when one obeys God.
Reply:It's not any one else's problem but yours, seriously.
Get A Grip
Reply:We don't convert people; all we can do for someone is tell them about Jesus. So we can't really fail at all. It's up to each individual person to choose whether to convert. For those who choose not to, then they are the ones that will have failed and will have to stand before God when they die.
Reply:If you don't believe it is not bad for me at all. It is, however, potentially bad for you if the whole "GOD thing" turns out to be correct. Then how bad will that be for you?
Reply:It is never bad for the person who is trying to tell you about Jesus Christ. It is bad for you not accepting, although you do not realize this.
There is no evangelist sargeant to report to. Do you report to Sargeant Dawkins?
Reply:Please don't take so much credit. No mature Christian thinks that they convert people. It's God who changes people, not people. And, every mature Christian knows that you're not going to make a significant impact on a person through things like these monologues on YA. The only thing we mature Christians are doing here is letting you know the truth, so that someday, maybe God will have a chance to change your heart. Or, lacking that, you will not be able to tell Satan that you never heard the truth.
Reply:LOL, we don`t fail just a missed oppurtunity but your the one going to hell not us.
